Archaeological National Park of Massi di Cemmo opened in October 2005, is the expansion of a small state area called "Massi di Cemmo", existing since 1964. Lucky archaeological discoveries occurred during the construction of Park have enriched the connotation of the place of worship with engraved stones: the excavations carried out by Superintendence between 2000 and 2007 have unearthed a sanctuary of Copper Age (III millennium BC), persisted with interruption until High Middle Ages.
