The monumental St. Michael's Church is a former convent in the historic Stampace distric, run by the Jesuits. For its architecture, for the decoration and the sculptures and paintings that guards, the building represents the main testimony of Baroque art in the city of Cagliari. The construction of the Church began around 1674 to be completed in 1712, with the erection of the Dessi's Mausoleum in the presbytery. The facade refers to models late Mannerist, with a porch at the bottom with three arches and four columns with capitals particularly worked; above, in the intermediate level, there are three rectangular windows framed by caryatids and broken pediments; newsstand at the top the statue of the Patron Saint, Michael Archangel.
