Museo donizettiano
Where
Via Arena, 9, Bergamo
The Museum, housed in the Council Room of Greater Mercy in Bergamo, was inaugurated in 1906, as result of two important donations: the precious collection of Donizetti's memorabilia of Baroness Giovanna Ginevra Rota Basoni Scotti, and the furnishings of the room in which the composer died. This first group was enriched, later, by the collection of relics and documents owned by the City and the valuable archive of Guido Zavadini. The Museum occupies two rooms of the palace and is divided chronologically (from birth to death of Gaetano Donizetti, 1797-1848).
