Orto botanico di Bergamo Lorenzo Rota
The Botanical Garden was opened in 1972 by the will of Luciano Malanchini and Guido Isnenghi, promoters of the International Alpini Botanical Gardens (AIGBA). The original approach was intended to rebuild the local natural environment, with the flora of the province of Bergamo, with special attention to alpine species. In 1989 it began working with the Museum of Natural Science, which gave new impetus to scientific research and the adjustment of the exposure through exhibitions, promotional events and guided tours. Since 1999, the Botanical Garden is an autonomous museum open to the public.
