It is the only Museum in the province dedicated to Sienese painting of the nineteenth century. Established in 1991 to preserve 60 paintings and 268 drawings by Cassioli (1832-1891) and his son, Giuseppe (1865-1942), left a gift to City of Asciano by his nephew, in 2007 Museum has been the subject of a new layout, with the addition of 40 works from Institute of Art in Siena, including those of Francesco Nenci, Luigi Mussini, Angelo Visconti and Arturo Viligiardi.
