Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista
Where Scalinata San Giovanni, Urbino (Pesaro e Urbino)
It is one of the main monuments of Urbino. It was the home of the Brotherhood and inside you can admire an impressive cycle of frescoes depicting the "Crucifixion of Christ", behind the main altar, and "Scenes from the Life of St. John the Baptist", along the side walls, masterpiece by brothers Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni from San Severino Marche (1415-1416). At the beginning of the twentieth century, the exterior was the subject of a radical restoration in neo-Gothic style, designed by Diomede Catalucci.
