It opens onto Mercatale Square and enter on Via Mazzini, which leads directly to the old town. It was built for the wedding of Federico Ubaldo della Rovere with Claudia de' Medici, as evidenced by the inscriptions relating to the spouses still on the frieze. The two eagles on the sides are a work by Francesco Buonamici, the mid-eighteenth century.
