The Diocesan Museum, built to house the artistic production owned by the Diocese of Tropea, was inaugurated in 2004 and is headquartered in the rooms of the Bishop's Palace, opposite the Norman Cathedral. The Museoo exhibited a series of marble statues, including "Saints Peter and Paul" (XVI century) invoice Sicilian, a triptych of seventeenth-century Neapolitan author,"Our Lady of Grace", "St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare". The first floor houses the collection of paintings, including works of various periods: two icons of the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries; traces of a fresco by Giotto school from the Convent of St. Clare (XIV century); many works by local artists, including a substantial part of the Tropeano Joseph Grimaldi (1690-1748), including the "Martyrdom of St. Domenica". Also to be reported, some pieces belonging to the Treasure of the Cathedral: a statue of 1738 in silver and copper depicting "St. Domenica", by Neapolitan Francesco Avellino. The Museum hosts conferences and lectures, and it's the seat of the Bishop's Library and Historical Diocesan Archive.
