Where Via Lungomare, Tropea (Vibo Valentia)

Tropea has a coastline of beaches which differ in conformation and natural features, so can satisfy all tastes. From sandy beach known as "U Cannuni" (which takes its name from the discovery of the seventeenth-century cannon, place today at the end of Largo Galluppi), reachable from the southern entrance of the port, we move on to "Roccette", the most famous beach, visible from panoramic view, characterized by the presence of Rock of St. Leonard. A little further on is the turn of "Mari Picciulu", busiest public beach area from which you can access Island rock and characteristic "U Palumbaru" cave; further south of the rock, "A Linguata". One of the largest and equipped beaches is "Mari Randi", close to the Island promenade, from which you reach Sanctuary and Convent of Health. "Passu Cavaleri" beach, accessible by drop-down Rocca Nettuno, is tied to the legend of a knight fell off the cliff on the beach chasing a nymph. "Occhiali", near Via Campo di Sotto (Police Station) is linked to the shape of the two rock cavities that characterize it; to the south, "Petra i Mulinu" and "Volu du Corvaru", respectively characterized by Blue Cave and the cliff on which the crows nest. Reachable only by boat, "U Sapuni" free and secluded beach on a rock that resembles the shape of a bar of soap.
