There are parts of the world where Santa Claus arrives in flip-flops and the last day of the year is ce-lebrated in a bathing suit on white beaches, while taking a dip in a crystal clear sea  and where you can breathtaking natural paradises. Leave your sweaters, coats and stress behind.

Spending your Christmas holidays in the Canaries

It seems like the title of one of  Italy’s classic cinepanettoni, instead it refers to your Christmas Holidays in the Canaries!

There are many wonderful places to discover and see in the Canary Islands. According to Lonely Planet, Lanzarote is the cheapest destination of this wonderful Spanish archipelago which is located in the northwest of Africa.

Lanzarote was declared a Natural Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and is an extraordinarily char-ming island that offers natural beauties, excellent food, high-class accommodations and mild tempe-ratures even in the winter thanks to its geographical proximity to Morocco and the Sahara desert.

Regarding what to see and do in Lanzarote - the choices are endless: if you love nature and adven-ture you will be amazed by the volcanoes that stand out on the horizon, the trekking routes through the wild nature in the mountains, its lakes, the many underground paths and its waters which are ideal for snorkeling.

On the other hand, you can opt for an artistic literary itinerary to discover the land where José Sa-ramago spent the last 18 years of  his life among olive groves, cacti and theaters that host   huge in-ternational guests.

Spending New Year’s  in the Caribbean

The Caribbean  is a true paradise on earth and is unquestionably among the most popular destina-tions to an escape the icy winter. Choosing the Caribbean as your New Year’s destination is not only a dream come true, but you also won't spend much.

These seductive islands which are immersed in the Caribbean Sea between the Greater and Lesser Antilles have turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and are in the midst of truly exotic nature. They are ideal for a dream vacation.

Just pack a bikini, a pareo and some flip-flops. The ideal destinations? Cuba and Jamaica.

Spending your Winter holidays in Cuba

Cuba is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations. It is a warm and generous island, known for its hospitality. This island which is the largest in the Caribbean, is also rich in history and offers dreamy beaches and a wonderful hinterland to be explored.

The temperatures are very high all year which is ideal if you want to experience your New Year doing the mambo, enjoying the sun,  and discovering cultural treasures.

Do not miss a trip to Havana which is the country's capital and the main historical-cultural center. It is perfectly connected to the main European cities.

In the old part of town you will come across the baroque architecture of the religious buildings and the imposing military constructions. If you are looking for something romantic and typical, don’t miss taking a walk along Malecòn avenue, or sipping a cocktail in one of the many bars present whi-le watching the sunset.

Spending Christmas in Jamaica

Jamaica is also one of the top destinations for winter, Christmas and New Year’s because here on can capture the feel of light-heartedness with the slow rhythms of reggae and the many adventures at hand.

There are many must-see activities to do for those who love the wild nature. It is definitely worth your while to visit the Dunn's River waterfalls in Ocho Rios, to take a boat trip on the Rio Grande, or visit the coffee plantations of the Blue Mountains.

A definite must is Kingston which is the island's capital. This location has a charming cultural cen-ter.  Don't miss the Bob Marley house-museum, Emancipation Park and Fort Charles.

Spanish Town is also worth a visit: it is not too far from Kingston. This UNESCO World Heritage site preserves the national archives and the oldest Anglican church beyond the borders of England.
