Piazza dei Cinquecento, 66, Roma
In front of the Termini Station, the Square is dedicated to five Italian soldiers who died in the Dogali Battle (1887). It was once called Termini Square, to the nearby presence of the ancient Diocletian Thermae, now houses the National Roman Museum. Between 1860 and 1878, while working on the construction of the railway station, the mountain was gradually flattened and appeared several times the remains of the Servian Wall, the the Republican city walls. Since 2011, in the center of the Square is the monument to Pope John Paul II, by the sculptor Oliviero Rainaldi.
