Opened in 1949 as a movie-theater and designed by Marcello Piacentini, it is characterized by a room without columns and other structures, which allows the display to the public from every seat. Shortly after the inauguration, in the Theater was filmed the final scene of the film "Totò cerca moglie"; a few days later, it followed the inauguration of the Theater program, again with Totò protagonist.
