Sort on existing chapel dedicated to St. Andrew de Aquaricariis in 1482 by a vote of Pope Sixtus IV. In 1656 the building was completely restored by Pietro da Cortona, who added famous Baroque facade that is coming forward to simulate a theater stage, with two orders, preceded by semi-circular portico supported by Tuscan columns. The interior, which is accessed by original portal of XV century, has a nave covered by octagonal cruise and a tribune surmounted by a dome, designed by Sangallo and decorated by Pietro da Cortona. Carlo Maderno designed the altar in 1614 to frame the painting "Madonna and Child". The chapels on the right side is Chigi, commissioned by Agostino Chigi, Pope's banker, by Raphael that with the fresco "Sibyls and Angels" (1514); and Cesi, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, with Renaissance decoration on external arch designed by Simone Mosca, and two frescoes. The chapels on the left are Ponzetti, with remarkable Renaissance frescoes by Baldassarre Peruzzi, and Mignanelli, with marbles from Temple of Jupiter. Another prominent feature of Church is Bramante Cloister (1500-1504), one of the most important works of Renaissance century, among the first by Bramante in Rome after his Milan period.
