Nomentano Bridge is a bridge over the Aniene river, crossed by the Via Nomentana, in the Monte Sacro district. Together Milvio Bridge was, in ancient Rome, one of the most important suburban bridges. It was originally built with square blocks of tufa, except for the arches in travertine, and had three arches. In the eighth century, it was fortified with two towers, in turn reinforced walls in the twelfth or thirteenth century. It underwent several changes of ownership, until it became the customs of the city, in 1532, before undergoing new restoration and editing. The plant consists of two towers with Ghibellines battlements, under which, through a segmental arch, passes Via Nomentana. Between the two towers, the Street is a short stretch (does not have a shelter) with a balcony to battlement wall, adorned with windows. On the sides, there were gates that barred the way, forcing the passage on the Bridge.
