The Foundation Center of Contemporary Jewish Documentation (CDEC), founded in Milan in 1986, is the main Italian institution for the history and documentation of contemporary Judaism. In 1992 the Archive Foundation was declared of "Remarkable Historical Interest" by the Superintendence for Archival Heritage of Lombardy. The Foundation conducts research and dissemination of the history of Jews in Italy, the Holocaust and anti-Semitism through various activities: acquisition and preservation of archival documents (paper, photographic, audiovisual); conferences, exhibitions and events; seminars and training courses; guidance and advice to scholars and institutions; publications.
