Palazzo Lombardia
In Lombardia City Square there are the regional office buildings, among which Lombardia Palace, headquarters of the Regional Council. The entire complex is an associated work by "Pei Cobb Freed & Partners", from New York, "Caputo Partnership" and "System Two thousand", from Milan, that began in 2007 and ended in 2010, when a copy of the famous statue of the "Madonnina" of the Cathedral was laid on top of the 39th floor of the skyscraper. The building consists of a tower of 161 meters in reinforced concrete, steel and glass, surrounded by curvilinear buildings of seven/eight floors, inside of which are hosted services, cultural and entertainment functions. The whole area covers 26.000 m², including spaces intended for public green (parks and roof gardens) designed as compensation for cutting the pre-existing "Joy Forest". In 2012, the Palace has received the Award organized by the "Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat" from Chicago as "Best Skyscraper in Europe".
