Center of the ethnic Albanian communities of Calabria, which maintains language, religious rite, culture, customs and ancestral customs. Born out of the exiles of Albanian lands who, since the 15th century, had to leave due to Turkish persecution, still today is aware of belonging to a people with a precise identity. Cultural models are faithful to it, which are still reflected in the values ​​of the present arbëresh, such as hospitality, honor (honor), besa (fidelity) and vellamja (fraternity). To visit, the ancient Convent of the Dominicans, the historical point of reference for the birth of the country; the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo, built in the 17th century, featuring a square tower bell tower with an octagonal cell cuspidata; the Chapel of the Madonna of April, in which significant significance assume the religious functions that take place in the Greek-Byzantine rite and the Church of St. John Chrysostom, at Piano dello Schiavo. On the occasion of the Feast of St. Joseph it is customary, on the eve of the eve, to erect huge stacks of charms in every ward and lighting up the bell of the main church bell. On the first Sunday of May, however, Sant'Atanasio, patron of the country, is celebrating. There are demonstrations of Albanian folklore with the participation of groups from other Albanian centers of Italy and Albania, in traditional costume.
