Museo Alessi
Alessi Museum exhibits the most important art collections of post-Classical central Sicily. It takes its name from Canon Giuseppe Alessi and exposes Cathedral's Treasure, rich collection of Sicilian jewelery from thirteenth century to nineteenth century. The highlight is Mary of Visitation's Crown, Patroness of the city, which is the biggest Sicilian Baroque jewel. Archaeological Section boasts Egyptian and Sicilians vases as well as pieces depicting the goddess Kore. Wide is Numismatics Section, with 4,000 Greek, Roman and Sicilian coins. Art Gallery, finally, collects several paintings, including some valuable.
