The bronze statue of philosopher Bernardino Telesio (Cosenza 1509-1588) stands in the center of XV March Square. Work of Achille Orsi, was created in 1914 and depicts the philosopher in meditative pose, holding a book and a pen. The pedestal on which is the statue, in granite, presents on the side faces two bronze bas-reliefs depicting scenes from the life of the philosopher, including an explanation of his doctrine and stopping during the sack of Rome in 1527.
