The Antonelliana Rotunda is what remains of the ambitious project of Alessandro Antonelli to build a church like St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The work began in 1842, with the support of citizenship, but after the construction of the perimeter walls and part of the columns, the work was abandoned for lack of funds. The space that was to constitute the presbytery, in neo-Gothic style, was designed to accommodate the current parish of Saints Peter and Paul. The new building, designed by architect Luigi Formento, was completed at the end of '800. In the space of the Rotunda are held several public events, including the Annual Ceramics Exhibition.
