In 1953, the accidental discovery of one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Province of Reggio Calabria: a pre-Hellenic necropolis, dug in an artificialgully, due to the centuries XIII-VII BC. They were found numerous tombs "artificial caves" or "oven", within which there were still skeletons placed in a fetal position and grave goods (now preserved in the Archaeological National Museum of Reggio Calabria).
