Museo Naturalistico Antropologico
The Museum, founded in 2002 and reopened in 2005, is based at Arena Palace. It is dedicated to the uniqueness of the area of the Strait of Messina, coordinating aspects abiotic and biotic factors, and in particular those geographic-morphological and geological, flora and fauna and coastal and anthropological aspects related to them. Preserves and displays many artifacts from the primacy as the Abyssal Fish Area of the Strait of Messina (Paleontological species studied by Prof. G. Seguenza). The collections are 13, consist of a minimum of 150 to a maximum of 2000 copies. Among the most interesting, the Collection of Conchology and the "Traditions", with the subsection dedicated to the ancient tradition of the "hunt" to Xiphias gladius (Swordfish) in the Strait of Messina, accompanied by vintage illustration and tools of ancient fishing.
