Baricella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 28 kilometres (17 mi) northeast of Bologna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,990 and an area of 45.6 square kilometres (17.6 sq mi).
The municipality of Baricella contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) San Gabriele, Mondonuovo, Gandazzolo, and Passo Segni.
Baricella borders the following municipalities: Argenta, Budrio, Ferrara, Malalbergo, Minerbio, Molinella, Poggio Renatico.
