Provincial Archaeological Museum is located since 2014 at ancient Bastion of St. Scholastica, one of the fortified ramparts of ancient Wall that protected Bari from sea attacks. Bastion was built by Aragonese on the highest part of the city, where ancient Benedictine Monastery of St. Scholastica (eleventh century), which overlooks Archaeological Area of St. Peter. Museum combines archaeological collections of Province of Bari and the result of excavations carried out by Superintendence, visiting the same places. Museum makes use of new technology, emphasizing the peculiarities of the site and making it understandable in each part: the path starts with a "virtual guide" outlining the building and urban transformation of the city, from the village of Bronze Age to Byzantine and Longobarda era. At the end of virtual projection, they wander suspended walkways that allow you to admire the remains of the floor of Church of Saints John and Paul. All along the route the exhibits and educational productions.
