Fiera Square has a quadrangular shape, closed east by Archbishop's Palace, north by thirteenth-century Vanghiane Walls, surviving stretch of the city wall, and west by Tower Madruzziano, mighty cylindrical tower bulwark at St. Cross Gate, shaped bastion battlements. Square once held annual fairs and those of animals, it is now the heart of traditional appointment with Christmas markets.
