It was built on design by Francesco Antonio Giongo Lavarone between 1767 and 1769. For this Fountain sculptor developed a system to flow without interruption. The statue of Neptune is original work by Stefano Salterio, but because of the damage suffered in the time it has been moved to the end of 1939 and put in the courtyard of nearby Thun Palce, while on the Fountain has been present since 1945 a bronze copy made by David Rigatti. Fountain is decorated with newts, sea horses and other sculptures, also by Salterio then replaced with copies by Andrea Malfatti and Ferdinando Bassi.
