Palazzo Geremia

Where Via della Prepositura, 78, Trento

It was built in the late fifteenth century as residence of Giovanni Antonio Pona, whose coat of arms, depicting an armed dagger, appears twice on the facade and in various indoor environments. The palace consists of three separate buildings: the main one, which overlooks Via Belenzani; the median, separated by a courtyard which is accessed through a portico and a service building more modest, on Via delle Orfane. The first two buildings are the result of changes made at the end of the fifteenth century on some Medieval housing units, the third was built later. After the extinction of the family Palace passed to Tevini, that after 1880 he sold it to Podetti. Purchased by City Council in 1912, it is now vanue of representation of City of Trento. The building was radically restructured in 1883, and the frescoes of the facade underwent several restoration campaigns. Palace is used for public meetings, conferences and events.
