The National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento is housed in Palazzo Carignano, a Baroque palace which King Emmanuel Filibert commissioned Guarini to build in 1679, e which was finally completed between 1864 e 1872. Its thirty rooms house numerous works of art e mementoes of Italian history between 1706 e 1946. The chamber of the Subalpine Parliament e the first Italian Parliament are also to be found here, together with a series of evocative reconstructions of period settings, such as the room of King Charles Albert in Oporto e the room of Camillo Benso di Cavour
