A masterpiece of the Baroque style, the Chapel of the Holy Shroud was designed and built by Guarino Guarini, mathematician, theologian and architect of Modena, between 1668 and 1694 by Charles Emmanuel of Savoy. The circular chapel, houses the Holy Shroud of the Holy Shroud in 1694 and is surmounted by another stone dome of frabosa Chickadee, an admirable series of geometric forms linked to each other creating a beautiful play of light and shadow. Several bronze stars were inlaid in the floor, made of white and gray marble. 

During the 800, Carlo Tree 4 mausoleums erected against the walls and dedicari to several important figures of the ancient history of Savoy. Despite being an integral part of the Royal Palace to the Chapel of the Cathedral, through two imposing stairways connected. Unfortunately, on April 11, 1997, the stone work of the Chapel and its wooden furnishings have been severely destroyed by a fire which made it very precarious stability of the entire architectural structure. Are currently ongoing restoration work, which will run again for another 6 years approx.
