Palazzo Zacco

Where Via San Vito, 119, Ragusa

Built in the second half of the eighteenth century by Baron Melfi of St. Anthony and purchased at the end of the next century by Zacco family, Palace has two sides with six large balconies. At the corner, the coat of arms of Melfi family outlined by a frame of acanthus leaves on which rests a cherub. Central balcony of the main facade rests on two columns with Corinthian capitals pitch bordering the entrance; two sides, however, have large shelves depicting musicians and grotesque faces. Also in the side elevation there are three balconies, most notably the one in the center, with a corbel depicting a siren and four flute and trumpet.
