Palazzo Cosentini
The construction of the building dates back to the eighteenth century, at the initiative of Baron Raffaele Cosentini. The building is located at the confluence of two major streets of the ancient city, which is why the corners are the statues of the patron Saint of travelers, St. Francis of Paola and S. Rocco. The main facade, with two floors, is outlined by two high pilasters ending with a capital decorated with festoons and shell. The three balconies of the main floor are characterized by the richness of decoration of shelves with grotesque masks and figures of musicians. The front side, which is also outlined by two tall pilasters, has a single balcony resting on shelves of the most original of the city: "i mascaruna i l'Archi", five grotesque masks that keep the mouth symbolic animals (snakes and scorpions) topped by allegorical figures of abundance (women with big breasts and men who run cornucopias).
