The Museum was established in 1961 to collect the materials of the excavations conducted in the territory of Ragusa. The exhibition consists of six sections, follows chronologically the various historical stages attested in the territory from the oldest Prehistoric sites (especially the archaic and classical necropolis of Camarina) to the centers of Hellenistic and Roman settlements and to the late Roman (mostly statues, pottery, inscriptions, glasses).
