Pilato Caves in Ponza are a complex of caves from Roman era, excavated at sea level. It consists of large caves connected to the sea and between them by tunnels, dug into the rocky bank just south-east of the port. The use was linked to the Villa Imperiale di Ponza. In 1997, a Roman marble statue and oil lamps were found.
