Palazzo Gotico
The palace was built since 1281 onwards by four Piacentine architects: Pietro da Cagnano, Negro de Negri, Gherardo Campanaro and Pietro da Borghetto. It stands on a grand porch with acute boulders, covered in white stone and red Verona marble in Verona, in contrast to the upper level in terracotta. The first floor is characterized by large windows with rounded arches that enroll trifore and quadrifore with fine geometric decorations. The interior is occupied by a magnificent architravon lounge, embellished with pictorial depictions, inside which, in 1644, a wooden theater was set up. The salon is now home to cultural events, exhibitions and institutional meetings.
