Founded by Antonio Pasqualino, who died in 1995, a surgeon and distinguished anthropologist, expert on the history and traditions of Sicily, the museum is housed in the former Hotel de France, a building of great architectural and historical interest, in the heart of Palermo, a few steps from the monumental Piazza Marina. The collections, as result of extensive research of the founder, include puppets, theater, furniture, posters, puppets from various European countries and the Far East, such as France, Spain, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, and many others.
