Built in stone and brick, it is one of the most representative and famous monuments of Lucca, its main feature is the presence of some holm on the top. In the early 1400s Lucca boasted over 250 towers and numerous bell towers, Guinigi family wanted to characterize their dwelling with a tree-lined tower, a symbol of the rebirth of their lordship. The top of the tower is accessed by 230 steps; the interior walls are decorated with paintings depicting Medieval life scenes. From the top you can admire the center of the city.
