Porta di San Donnino

Where Via Agostino Berenini, 134, Fidenza (Parma)

Built in 1364 on the first span of ancient Roman bridge by Bernabò Visconti, together with the town wall, Medieval Gate is the only surviving trace of ancient fortifications of Fidenza. Today, the tower, communicating with adjacent Casa Cremonini, is home to offices and municipal associations and small Antiquarium. The Gate, crossed by the pedestrian walkway that crosses original bridge track, has a singular summit, Guelfa on the inside and Ghibelline on the other three.
