In 1981, he brilliant idea by the painter Nani Razzetti and the Mayor of the time, Ing. Evasio Pascale, "Operation Mural" brought in Diamante some of the most acclaimed artists in the world to paint the houses's walls. The city walls have become real paintings that portrayed scenes of everyday life, the territory and the stories of a people dedicated to fishing. All this has led to the creation of over 200 murals, in the town center, they expand across the country, giving a Diamante as "Murales City".
