Castello di Castelfranco Veneto

Where Via Romanina, Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso)

The element that most characterizes Castelfranco is the castle, which encloses the historic center. Defended by very high walls, red brick, includes six towers, four of which on the top of the square base, one on the south median (towards Padua), transformed into the bell tower of Cathedral, the other on the east mediana (towards Treviso). From an ancient drawing preserved in Municipal Library there are seven towers in total: the last one, torn down, was placed on the western median (towards Cittadella).
