Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Capri Leone (Messina)
Adjacent to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is the square known as "Lions" because of a monumental fountain which includes two lions from whose mouth comes out a clear and fresh water. The first lion, inserted in a niche surmounted by a carved coat of arms dating from 1891, was made concrete by Giuffre Brothers in Barcelona in 1910. The second sculpture, depicting the lioness instead, it operates in red marble from St. Mark, opera local bill dating back to the fifteenth century.
