Capri Leone (Messina)
Capri Leone, in Nebrodi Mountains, consists of a small village and populous Rocca, in the flat part of the territory. The name refers to ancient origins: it seems to refer to Greek word kάπρος (wild boar), animal whose presence is attested on many ancient coins. In addition to a beautiful old town, Capri Leone counts numerous churches throughout the area and decorated with works of art. It is the only town in Sicily in which they honor St. Emperor Constantine, in honor of which, every year there is a big event on the last Saturday of July.
