Parco Riviera del Conero
Conero Riviera Park, at the slopes of the namesake Mount, is an "open book" about the geological history of the area and of the Umbria and Marche Appennino. Inside its perimeter fall the Massignano Quarry and find an ideal habitat many botanical peculiarities, such as the arborescent euphorbia, the wallflowers and wild fennel. Known point of migration of birds of prey, valuable for those who enjoy bird watching, not infrequently the Park offers the spectacle of herons in flight. In the Protected Area fall also the oldest part of the city of Ancona, and the Medieval villages of Sirolo, one of the jewels of the Conero, developed within a fortress overlooking the sea, Numana, ancient Piceno port refounded in the fifth century BC by Syracuse, and Camerano, the "Capital of Rosso Conero", excellent blend of art and nature. The Park, a paradise for hikers, is crossed by paths adequately disclosed that run routes also suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding.
