War Memorial of the First World War of Ancona is located in Piazza IV Novembre and It is known simply as "Monument", par excellence. It was designed in the Twenties by the architect Guido Cirilli in the form of circular temple characterized by Doric order. The building has eight fluted columns, It is placed on top of a circular staircase and is entirely made by stone from Istria. The base is decorated with helmets and swords, symbols of defense and attack respectively. At the center is a small altar.
