Ancient Cathedral of Greek-Byzantine rite was built in 1200 on the ruins of an earlier Doric temple, identified by some scholars with the Temple of Zeus and Athena Lindia Atabyrios (quoted by Polybius). The facade is characterized by a Gothic portal in Chiaramonte style.
