Collezioni egittologiche dell'Università degli studi di Pisa
Egyptological collection of the University of Pisa was born in 1962, thanks to an initial donation made by Laura Birga Picozzi, a descendant of the family of Ippolito Rosellini, the J.F. Champollion's pupil, "father of Italian Egyptology". Donations, purchases, excavations and research in Egypt by the University of Pisa - Chair of Egyptology, added materials that now make up an important complex, both for its asset value, both for its consistence and its significance scientific, historical and archaeological, and also for the relevant teaching and exhibition. Collections are connected with the "Laboratory Egyptological I. Rosellini", of the same Department.
