Prato della Valle
Prato della Valle is the largest square in the city of Padua and among the largest in Italy and Europe, with an area of 88,620 m². Current configuration dates from the late eighteenth century and is characterized by central elliptical island, called Isola Memmia, surrounded by a channel (powered by Alicorno channel) on its banks is a double ring of 78 statues. Prato still maintains its historic features in place of trade and show: every Saturday there is traditional market of Padua and every third Sunday of the month an antiques market. Several times a year Prato hosts concerts with tens of thousands of spectators. On Prato overlooks imposing Basilica of St. Giustina.
