Piazza Antenore, Padova
The so-called Antenore's Grave is Medieval monument that, according to legend, it should contain the remains of mythical founder of Padua. In 1274, during the construction of a hospice, funeral ark was found with two coffins containing human remains with a sword and two gold vases. The judge Lovato Lovati, poet and scholar, attributed the remains to Trojan prince Antenor which, according to Livio, was the founder of the city. In 1283 it was decided to build a monument to contain the ark: a building in brick to the side of Roman St. Lourence's Bridge that crossed the canal.
