Porto Vecchio
The Old Porto is the oldest and most characteristic of Porto Santo Stefano. Between the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century, thanks to the Spanish rulers, the town began to take on a strategic role, coming equipped with fortification. The Port opens north-west towards the sea, locked in a small natural bay, in continuity with the scenic Piazza dei Rioni, which is the "parlor" of Porto Santo Stefano. At the western branches off a breakwater, called "The Moletto". The Port is marked by a lighthouse. During the month of June, it is home to the "Argentario Sailing Week", a sailing event organized by the Yacht Club Santo Stefano.
