This wood occupies most of "Murgiano step" up to Monte Fellone and Specchia Tarantina. In the early twentieth century many brigands took refuge here. A place rich in karst cavities, floristic population is characterized by fragrant, downy oak and tall leccet, as well as several species of wild orchids.
