The amphitheatre is located at the eastern edge of the Roman town and dates back to the Augustan period. The monument is elliptical with major axis placed in East-West direction and could hold up to 14,000 spectators. Thanks to the excavations made have been recovered numerous marble architectural elements and elements of sculptural decoration of the building, as the capitals "calice" and some reliefs with scenes of venationes.
